Mid-southern Missouri, where to go?

I live near West Plains Mo, almost on the state line of Ark. and about in the middle of the state east to west. Does anyone know of a good public place to hit a trail and just enjoy the scenery? There is some private places that have trails, but I really dont want to join a club to enjoy nature.

Thank you!

(if anyone is nearby and wants to get together for a ride sometime let me know, we can cruise the county roads if nothing else!)

I have inlaws at Mtn View on some land (40 acres) a few miles west of there off 60. Plus some in West Plains. I rarely go down there though. I just got my Popo recently and might take it down there sometime. I have gone to a place south of Sullivan, MO called Moonlite Racing. They charge $10 per machine and lots of area to ride on. I live at Union, MO

Thanks for the replies! I have heard of chadwick, just never ventured that way. I dont mind paying to be on land, just not a membership where I have to pay 2g's to play. glngib, shoot me a pm sometime, I get to rolla quite a bit, and have acreage in licking, or when you are down my way I have 8 acres, but I think I have explored it all!

I lived in Licking back in the late 70's and early 80's. About 100 miles from me to there. Have friends there still. I am itiching to ride tomorrow at Moonlite racing. Next weekend I think I will be camping near Potosi, MO and will take it there.

Omg Potosi is home of the fat girls! (No offense please) I worked there at the prison on the lethal fence and the three weeks I was there I never seen a beauty one. Man was I glad to get home! Anyways. Is there any clubs around that just plan weekend getaways with the campers and toys but don't have to drive hours to get there? We are building a house just outside of licking so I will be closer to your area about wintertime for good

Well, I haven't searched too hard yet. But, there are a few within an hour or so of me that has campgrounds and place to ride. My friend has 180 acres near Belle, MO on the Gasconade river. I can go there some. Haven't been in the town of Potosi long enough to see what is there. Just drive through it. lol

Pics

Here are some pics from todays ride at Moonlite Racing. They told me there is 600 acres to ride on. Found these guys and kids riding the creek run offs between the hills. I stayed on the main trails. Too rough for me. lol
I got to pull a kid out of mud hole today and later on pushed him out of some deep tracks.

Suppose to be getting maybe 6 inches of snow soon. Get to try out my new plow.

Keep your snow! I dont mind it, just seems to keep me up all night when those who think they can drive in it slide off into trees or others. Keeps me out in it, every snow does. so to those of you in southern mo in my neck of the woods, stay home!
