Where to ride in TN.. Brimstone or Royal Blue?
I am trying to plan a 1 wk vacation to TN this summer, most likey will be the last week of July. I was wondering which place would be the most fun to spend a week at. Brimstone rec or Royal Blue. Seems like Royal blue is a little more expensive. Whats the weather like during the last week of july in TN? Is it necessary to re jet our carb ATVs?
THANKS

and Coal Creek is a must. It's about 50 miles from Brimstone.
I rode both about a month ago. Brimstone was great, but I'll take CC any day of the week.

Yeah, I wish I could have got my vacation on a different week, just so it would not be so hot.. but oh well just have to get dirty then! haha
Which place would be better to get a cabin from? Anyone ever stay at either place?
Yeah, being down there.. we could ride both.. just that I know royal blue charges per day permits and brimstone has a weekly discounted price...
hey CHOPS>>>>What is Coal Creek like? is it a big system of trails, or just more of an offroad park?... where did you stay when you were down there?
does any one know of any other trails in that area that I am forgetting to take in consideration?
THANKS

I like rocks! Brimstone has them, but seemed like more mud to me.
We stay at the Comfort Inn in Oak Ridge. I like coming back after hard day of riding and eating/drinking somewhere nice. Outback is across the street.
They also have continental breakfast in the am.
If you go to CC try this:
Parking Lot --> 2 --> 16 --> 18 --> 13 --> 12 --> 9 --> 18 --> 16 --> 2 --> Parking Lot .
You will have a blast wherever you go. I can't wait for fall to get here so I can go again!

Our family (3 generations of ATV riders) will be staying at Ride Royal Blue the weekend of July 23. MAJOR difference between all these riding areas is that Coal Creek and Brimstone are privately managed riding areas whereas Ride Royal Blue is a full service ATV resort ADJACENT to the North Cumberland Wildlife Management Area (WMA) OHV Riding Area. This is a TN state maintained trail system and riding/permit fees are assessed by the TN Wildlife Resources Agency, not Ride Royal Blue- they have no control over that. Since we have grandkids under the age of 13 that ride for free, the fees balance themselves out well. Ride Royal Blue is very, very family friendly and that is a major descriminator for us.

sounds like you will be down there about the same time as we would be getting down there, We plan on going down that weekend and staying until the next weekend. Maybe if we go to royal blue... we could meet up and ride.
It would be my dad, my brother, 20 and my younger brother, 13. I talked to the people in Brimstone and it sounds like they don't have much for amenities, and do not have gas in the park.
Does royal blue or oak creek have gas right on the park?
I would rather have a large range of trails with mud and hills and through the mountains, not too rockey either.. i don't enjoy denting up my ATV and stuff...
so royal blue????

Last June we rode Brimstone and they have great trails and nice cabins, you can access trails from your front door. Fuel is available in town and there is other amenities in the area.
