Minnesota trails?
Hi all: I am posting on behalf of a group of us looking to come over to MN sometime this summer for a day or two of trail riding. Roughly 6-8 of us who ride semi-aggressive. Looking for day long rides that includes hills, mud (if possible), and just some fun.
We are safe and wear the appropriate gear to ride and would love to find some local "trail guides" that could show us around the area.
It would be great to find a hotel, steak house, and local bar we could spend some money in as well (give back to the area for the wonderful resource).
Any help on building a friendship with some locals would great appreciated.
Dan

Check out the MN DNR website. They have an entire site just for ATV's. There is a highly rated ATV park in Gilbert, MN. Gilbert is about 70 miles north of Duluth.
Check it out.

Ages 32-40. A mix of newer ATV's from 400's to 800's. All 4x4. Most have sleds as well and hit the mountains a couple of times each year besides pushing ditches here in ND. Most hunt and fish as well.
We are doing a 52 mile run on Good Friday. will be a mixture of gravel roads, prairie trails, fields, woods, and hopefully plenty of mud, snow, and water to play in.
We all like to sit back at the end of the day and have a drink (or two or three) as well as find some good food.
What else you need?

Silver Bay area would be good, atv friendly area and other amenities in the area. Not sure where in ND you are located but riding in the Black Hills may suit what your looking for better minus the mud, not much legal mud in MN anyways.

There are good trails on either side of Lawler MN off the soo line North trail specifically the Lawler loops about 6 miles east of Lawler, and in lawler is Jackson Hole bar and restaurant, they just made these trails more state like and they are fun (they used to be a blast with mud every 100 yards or so, but they took all that out) They are still good and a fun ride. The nemadji state forest is fun too with tons of miles to be riden (bring a map and GPS) or the Red top right out of isle is fun for a day too! let me know when you plan on heading that way, we are always looking for more people to ride with. We have a good group of about 4-6 that go from time to time.. attached are pics from all 3 spots, sorry the one from the Lawler lops is the old trail, it is not so wet now.
