buried my 500

so i took my rims and mud tires off the other day. well i live in a newly built subdivision. well it turns out that less than 200ft from my drive way is a path to a powerline. so i decided along with my neighbor ( he has a Grizzly 600, with a jacked motor) to take a lil ride. well it turns out that looks can be mis leading and wearing fli-flops is really dumb.

so we get to the powerlines and you can tell that they used some big equipment to clean it about a year ago. well we were riding for a lil while when i was trying to leave and hit one of the old ruts. lets just say that its hard to move the quad with out any traction. so he had to winch me out. turns out he had to use me to get him self out as well. i wish i would have had the camera but lets just say my wheels and tires are going back on tom. and ill be going back there tom, or friday to try it out for real. ill take pics then

Went 'there' Monday- check out my avatar picture. I live in St. George, Utah and its run-off time. I didn't think (I should stop there)...about how powerful the water was but I only had 8 inches of bike in the water. It dropped off and the current took my bike about 100 yards down stream rolling it several times and costing me, it appears, about $400 dollars! Yikes!!

I'm here now (a newbie) looking for the drain plugs for 'everything'. lol

Added Later-
I found a video (posted it elsewhere on forum) showing all of the plugs (except the one under the motor- someone, is that a sump tank?). I pulled all four plugs, drained it completely, added alcohol to the motor (pulled the spark plug out so it wouldn't fire without oil) and turned her over a few times to get all of the alcohol to dissipate the water (as much as possible). Then refilled it and added new filters all the way around. I got her started but realized that I had not drained the water out of the gas tank- it kept dying out...Oh well, something to do tomorrow, I reckon.

I don't know much about this bike but I'm learning (the hard way- lol).

I think the plug your referring to is the crankcase drain plug, you will need to change that out as well.

WOW! Was that the Virgin river? Can't believe how much water you guys have had in that river this year.

We were just up at Coral Pink last weekend and Sand Hollow 3 weeks before that, was commenting about the water level.
