Thanks for the links and info!!

I have a place north of Ellenville on the Sullivan & Ulster countie lines.

Nothing to ride right there sans private property and we do not have enough to make it worth while...

Sorry man,
I don't know of any!

The locals have been riding there since there was a ATV and most HATE them on there property, but there is trails LACED thru the area because some simply dont care! These ruin it for all the rest of us. Even my close neighbors WITH enough property will not let me ride. They let me hunt walk cut trees do pretty much what ever else I want, but NO ATVS! Even just to run in a haul out a deer, NO is the answer I get! I am not the one who has ever been an there property with a ATV and I was there before ALL these guys!! My family bought and built there in the early 1940's.

As you know State land is NO MOTORIZED VEHICLES, as the signs proclaim...

Probably your best bet would be Tug Hill.

Check out Tug Hill Wheelers. They ride quite regularly and can really put some miles on.

I'm from Oneida, we plan on trying the Lewis county trail system next spring, $80 for a year long permit. It sounds like a lot, but they are working on making the whole region be accessible using one permit. Can't wait for that.

I am not against the permit, in fact I promote it; but it is only needed when riding the county reforestation pieces, not the main trails. Of course the county parcels are the best to ride. Join one of the clubs there and you will get a trail map - it is extensive!

Saranac. Surprised you left off the Rivergate Trail. I saw some of your photos were taken on it. It may not be long or as much fun as most but it is a great way to use up a few hours if you are in the area.

Otherwise: counting the days until SNIRT 2012.
