What to expect from ATV Club

Guys.. what kind of communication/interactions do you typically have with your clubs?.. The reason I ask, is that I joined a club this year because where I live, there is little to no public land to ride on.. So I thought I'd do the right thing and join a club.. Just one other atv'r in my circle of friends and he lives an hour away.. Figured this would be a great way to get hooked up with fellow enthusiasts.. Thought there would be group rides - poker runs etc.. Not all the time but maybe a couple of times in the season.. To make a long story longer.. I haven't heard a peep from my club.. No email communications - no updates on the website, nothin'!.. Just a bit surprised and disappointed in the lack of community within my club.. Is this the norm or are most clubs pretty active as a group?..

I know where I live the two that are close to me have things going on all the time they have web sites and post news about trips, open houses, and events to get more members. I am lucky that I can ride out my cabin door for a good while and not touch the some trail for a while.

I belong to a couple of very different clubs. Some just want your money and communicate only when they need help to maintain trails. Others are more like you are talking about, that do more meet and greet social events and group rides. Hopefully you have more than one in your area and can join one that is more in line with what you're looking for.
