Wink Took a trip to Beartown Mountain in Monterrey Mass

This was our first trip here. It's in the southern Berkshires of Massachusetts.
They have 25 miles of rough, mountain trails with lots of roots and rocky climbs and decents. They have miles of walking trails, Hiking trails and horseback riding trails as well as ATV, Dirt bike and sno machine trails in the winter. The only things NOT allowd are UTVs or trucks. here is some shots I got walking aboth a half mile of the trails.

Beartown State Forest * Benedict Pond Appalachian Trail * Monterey Great Barrington, Massachusetts Berkshire Mountains - BerkshireHiking.Com

Beartown State Forest - Massachusetts Motorcycle and ATV Trails

I went along for the truck ride as I am not yet able to stand the ATV riding. But it is beautiful up there as the leaves are about 40-50% changed over to fall colors. Pop my buddies Paul and Scott sure had a blast!

Here is all the boys...

I spoke with a couple dirt bike riders who saw two black bears on the trails that morning. They also said, Moose are a common site. I saw one deer walking to that stone building a couple hundred yards form the truck.

Hopefully in a couple weeks I'll be better and can try my hand at this place!!!

CW. Why can't you ride? I hadn't heard that anything was wrong. Whatever it is, Godspeed on the healing. Darn well better be better before the Maine trip. Someday you and I are going to find a mutual distance place to meet up for a ride.

That post was from last October.

Back On 9/11/11 I had a auto battery blowup in my face at work. If you rem 9/11 was a Sunday and I was alone when it happened. NOT COOL! Blew me back into a wall some ten feet! I don't think I was out but have no way to know for sure. I have some loss of memory. Thankfully I was with it enough to flush my head and eyes shortly after. Trip to ER showed brusing and tests showed concussion. Strangest thug I ever experienced, simple things hurt my head to the point I could not do math equations or write my full name and address. Without bad head aches. SO, I was lucky to only get a concussion, acid burns and bad hearing loss in both ears. The droning sound of engines gave me skull cracking migraines. To this day I am still experiencing them with intence noises. Just this am we where pounding some press in pins out of a 3"thick chunk of steel and don't ya know, two strikes before I could get my head phones on gave me a dusy of a head ache...

Any how I am able to ride just must be careful with loud sounds. I have a substantial hearing loss and tinittus pretty bad. But thankfully it's only bothersome in really quite areas and I am rarely there septin when hunting. I had a number of deer walk right past me cause I simply could not hear them...

Thank you for the consern!!
