Pocahontas (Hatfield-McCoy) to open soon
Just got back from H-M's Rockhouse and Pinnacle Creek. The word from the trail personnel is that the new Pocahontas trail is complete, but they haven't been able to purchase land yet for the trailhead/parking lot. Maybe by spring? It's set up east of Indian Ridge with a 9 mile connector to IR. With Pinnacle Creek, Indian Ridge, and Pocahontas all connected, that's about 300 miles of directly connected trails? Outrageous! There will be folks that motor in and are never heard from again!

Did they give you any info about maps or other material?

We have already ridden a lot of the new Poco trails. Most of them used to be the Outlaw trails in that area. We have been collecting GPS tracks of most of them and should have them all after another couple of rides. You can ride most of them now, you just have to get to them from the North since TH is not finished.

The custodian @ Pinnacle Creek had no maps, etc. I don't think he was comfortable in giving out any specific info until TH was complete.

Another new trail is slated to open next year too,It's going to be named "Ivy Branch" it's close to Little Coal River.
