Welcome!

I'm from Red Deer and my favorite places to ride are between Chambers Creek, Horburg and Jackfish Lake. These are just past Rocky Mountain House. Plenty of trails. There are probably maps available online. Plus toward the Ram River there is a dude who provides guided tours as well. There is even an ATV wash bay where this campsite is located. The name escapes me, but they are listed on my dealers website, Parkland Sled & ATV in Gasoline Alley, Red Deer County.

Basic requirements? Helmet, license tags, and minimum insurance. No entry of posted lands without permission, etc.

I also love the trail plan in ther Crowsnest Pass in Coleman, AB. I don't get to these places nearly enough.

Hope this helps and hope to see you on the trails.

I'll find links for Parkland and the tours and post them for you.

Peace

Hey! Thanks, really appreciate it! I'll probably be in the Calgary area. I'm moving from saskatchewan but the laws seem pretty much the same. I'm pretty lucky here where I am. I can drive down our grid road for about 1 and a half kms. and be on a trail that goes strait into town and ends up at the A&W. It takes about 5-10 minutes depending on who is driving! Travelled it many a times! Awesome trail. (Has lots of mud holes in the spring time!)
When I was still in school, me, my mom and sister used to go down there every afternoon and get a root beer float in the summer and a hot chocolate and Apple pie. Aaaah the memories! (oh and that's where my mom hit a train with our old Honda 400.) The quad was fine and so was she! Thank God! Fortunately the train was idle.she was more inexperienced on an ATV then

Lots of great places around the Calgary area. Most of them are about 30 min straight west of the city. Good place to go that has hundreds of trails would be Maclean Creek. Another great resource would be to contact Alberta Sustainable Resources they have maps of numerous places throughout southern Alberta.

Also I have started a Alberta ATV Riders social group to see if we can get more of us together to discuss such topics.
