Lake Murray-Ardmore Ok.

Has anyone here ever ridden there? I know it's kinda small. Just looking for a relatively short drive to get a few hours of riding in with my brother who's coming in for Christmas.
What I'd like to know is: are the park rangers out and about there? Will they check the ages of my children? Don't need a ticket and they are both young for the wheelers they ride. Unless they check everyone, I'll be fine. My 9 yr old is a tall 160 pound boy and my 13 yr old daughter is 5ft 9.
So do you think we'll be okay? Do they check everyone?

As for the rangers there is two of them I believe and they are really pretty good people. I don't think they will mess with the kids unless they ride something way too big for them

Thanks for the info. My son's wheeler is a Honda Rancher and my daughter rides a Honda Recon, neither child "looks" too small on them so I think we'll be fine. Gonna be low 40's on friday- kinda cold for us southern OK folks but I bet it will be a lot of fun.
Thanks again for the info BruteForce.

Btw. If you make a hard right out of the gate when you enter you will find a path that leads back to the store. Be careful though you'll have to ride the kids bikes across the canyon for them but all smooth sailing from there. P.s. Anytime you see mudholes 3-4ft wide and 6 long avoid them some are 10 feet deep

I've been talking to some guys about riding there and one of 'em said the same thing. He said his nephew was riding in circles around a mud hole, then some guy comes riding through and goes right down the middle of the mud and his wheeler DISAPPEARED! The guys upper body and (luckily) the tip of his snorkels were the only things visible. My buddy said his nephew was lucky he was just riding the edges, for neither one knew it was a sink hole as you described.

They get pretty deep as people ride through over the summer. We all have snorkels and lifts and still check them with a stick lol

The Park Rangers do not ride the trails, they only work the toll booth. It costs $10 per person. Also, everyone is required to wear helmets. The Lake is low right now and you can ride the shore line for a long ways.
