WNY trails
Hey everyone I'm from western new york. If there is anyone else in here from the same area could you give me any ideas of places to ride. As of now we head down to Jamestown and pa. Would like to find places that are closer. Any help would be great

I also live in NY. For some reason New York state DEC doesn't like ATV's. For one thing they don't want them on any state land. Also they are closing more land to them all the time. I looked into and was told that the head person of NY DEC lived in New York City and has no use for ATV's. The only way we will get any where with this is write letters to the NY state government. The snowmobiles had the same problem but the clubs got together and are opening a lot of trails. There problem is now that they have to pay a 100 dollars a year to register their machines. Who knows with enough complaints and letters we will also get trails opened up. As far as I know the only countries with any open ATV's trails are in northern NY counties and they are closing them slowly one at a time.

As I understand Pa. has a good trail system and all the states do around NY. New Your state just has to get with it because our money is just as good as other sportsman's like hunting, fishing, hiking, or snowmobiling. The NY ATV's are getting the boot. They will spend millions to make a road with a lot of environmental problems but nothing for a three foot wide trail in the wildness because a rabbit might stub its toe. I will bet you will see a lot more dead rabbits on that highway then any ATV trail. It just make me madder as I start writing about it and it should do the same for you seeing all the money you have invested in you sport.

There is a newer ATV park in Andover, NY in Allegany county. They have been open for a couple years now and have 60+ miles of trails on about 1300 acres of land with more trails being built all the time. $20 per machine per day and $30 per weekend. They were featured on Fisher's ATV world this week.

They are on Facebook also and their FB page gets updated more often then their website.

It sound good and not priced too bad. My problem I have a second home in the northern NY Adirondacks and do most of my riding in that area. The town that my camp is in is open to ATV's and just miles of riding. The Adirondacks is a lot of state land which the DEC is closing up on ATVs more all the time. One of the problems we are having is when a very irresponsible person starts riping up the land. This just hurts everyone. I have a lot of money tied up in my camp and land and have to pay yearly taxes just to have the privilege to ride my ATV taken away from me. Sorry to vent like this but it burns me up. I have been changing over to motorcycle that I can ride on the roads and find no shortage of where I can ride but still miss that offroad.

maybe we all could plan a day trip up there to ride. If you decide on a date let everyone know and maybe we could meet. its close for me as well. and for the places to ride in jamestown, there are none unless you have private land. The state lands are a pain due to the DEC guys. they patrol it alot near us and give us a hard time. o and riding on the snowmobile trails is forbidden too. we make "ruts and tear up the land". thats what i was told. but all these snowmobilers that are riding the trails this year when there is hardly no snow and tearing stuff up must be ok by there standards. but no wheelers. NY is dumb as hell

Wish I could join you for a day in Andover, but I am afraid it is a little too far away from me. Anyone coming to the Tug Hill though let me know. Not open until May but plan on making the most of it as soon as it opens.
