I have heard nothing but good things about ricochet plates and guards, and Thor sells them through the atvsuperstore.com too. I would look at those. Probably the more pricey side of guards, but again, i havent heard a single bad thing about them.

I also put the ricochet guards on my 850. High quality, superior protection. If you want the best go ricochet. Plus you get free stickers which add 1-2 hp

Check out Hey! ATV Parts and Accessories are Here! they sell the A arm guards, and its 25.00 dollars more to have them powder coated black. I didn`t feel like paying the extra 25.00 dollars, so for 7.00 dollars a spray painted them black.

has there ever been any problems with them filling with mud or rocks and then having them wear threw the boots that way?

I don`t ride in the mud if i can avoid it, but some of the trails i ride on are very rocky, and so far i havn`t had any problems with rocks getting into the a arm guards, but im sure its a possibility.

Ricochets come in the plain aluminum, for an extra $25 you can get them anodized Black or Green.

They have decent drainage holes to allow mud and small rocks to escape.
