distance between your gun forks?

just bought a new lock and ride tool box and while i was at the dealer i seen some gun forks on sale so i snached em quick got home and i was going to mount them but i dont know what kind of distance would be the best id hate to drill my holes and then not have it work the way i like ill hold off until i see some pictures or replys of people who have them on there wheeler either that or ill put them on my back rack to avoid drilling holes id just like it in the front of the wheeler better so i could keep an eye on it and grab it easier if i see a grouse or something while trail riding

Heres my suggestion......set them on the table and place the rifle/s you plan to use while on your rides in them. Adjust the mounts to where the gun safely sits between them and looks like it will ride the best. Where your sling mounts are or scope may affect distance between your mounts as well. Set it up for YOUR gun/s and what fits for you.

For instance: My 7mm rides better scope up, while my .22 and 30-06 ride better scope down, and the g/f's 243 cant sit still!
