Rear bumper install 2010 500 a tight space and fat fingers
I just started installing my rear bumper and what a pain in the butt. My fat fingers don't make it putting on the nuts on the bolts through the c channel. I got one up the uppers but there is no way I can manage the lower bolts. How do I remove the tool box to have some work space? Do I need to remove the rear rack and muffler? I can't remove the lower right tool box bolt because of the muffler.

Try a box ended wrench and some tape or adhesive to hold the nut in the wrench... Ratchet wrenches also help allot!

wrench
Tried that. The c channel is deeper on the bottom hole and the tool box is fat enough that a rachet does not have the room to fit, even with a swivel head.

Rear Bumper
Well, I got 3 out of four. Just did not have any room on the right side to work with around the muffler. Did not want to remove the rear lid it would have been the entire fender. Very tight quarters.

I have the same wheeler and my bolts for the rear bumper were self tappers.... I wonder why we both got different ways to mount it?

Hold the nut in place with one of those small telescoping magnets and turn the bolt into the nut....... Once it gets snug you can probably get a wrench down there to finish tightening it up.

Just installed a Polaris rear brushguard last week and mine were self tap screws. What brand bumper did you buy?

rear bumper
Yea, that was part of my problem. They were self tappers but I don't trust the metal of the C channel frame to be strong enough, so I drilled them a little. I still had to wrench them in. I have had issues with that style in the past with the lighter steel. Now I only have 3 bolts holding it on but it is on good with nuts. There were nuts for the bolts anyways.
Thanks for your suggestions.

I didn't trust the self tapping screws with the Pure Polaris brushguards, either.
I tapped the holes,(5/16-18 tpi), then taped some socket head capscrews to a ball drive allen key. This little trick really simplifies getting the screws into the c-channel.
