aluminum vs UHMW skid plates??
i have seen the polaris rzr's with UHMW skid plates and the sportmans with aluminum. i took a few good hits this past weekend on some rocky terrain and i cant settle with no protection. any and all thoughts on the pros and cons of aluminum vs UHMW skidplates would be appreciated.

I prefer aluminum or plastic any day. Why remove plastic plastic back on? Plus what to do use to stop the plastic. Metal screws for strength. All these years we have been selling ricochet we have never had 1 complaint or issue. That's in it's own is the best security in my opinion for the quality of the product. Any questions on ricochet feel free to call the shop ask for Thor.

Welcome! I have used UHMW at work and is a good hard plastic with excellent wear properties. In order to get the protection one would need in this application it would need to be over 1/4" thick (imo). That makes it very hard to bend to conform to the underside of the sportsman. The rsr's seem to be more flat underneeth. The aluminum skid plates come already conformed to fit the underside of the sportsman & would be easier to install.
The plastic would work but be a real pain to get a good close fit. Thats my opinion! Interested in seeing what others have to say.
