New rims on my Scrambler 500
Hey guys. So the point of this thread is to show fellow Scrambler owners what the ITP Delta rims look like on this machine. When I was searching for Rims I was going crazy. Mainly because no one puts rims on these let alone posts a thread of someone going into detail.
I just want to help out other Scrambler owners interested in getting Rims. The rear wheels are VERY close. They dont rub at all. Once you sit on the machine they actually get farther away. Once you get off though...they come close. About a thumb's worth of space. The Floor boards can moved forward if you drill new holes. Personally im not going to worry about that. I will be adding a 3M vinyl red lip to the rims. Will update.
Now onto the details.
-Carlisle AT489's. F:25x8-12 R:25x10-12. 150Kms on them. Paid $160.
-ITP 12" Black Delta. $56 each after taxes from Royal distributing. $224
-Chrome Royal Distributing valve stems. $8 for four.
-Installation....Free! I work at a tire shop
GRAND TOTAL: $396. Pretty darn good if you ask me.
Thats about it. Pictures dont do it justice. They lifted the quad a good 2 inches. Feels like its actually lifted when you sit on it.

Just a few questions regarding the diameter for the Front & Rear.
I have a `98 that I got for my son, the Rears are 22x11-10 and the
Fronts are 23x8-10. Basically 1" difference from Front to rear, being that
you went with 25" both Front & Rear does that change anything in regards
to the 4x4 gearing when turned on?
I read another post where someone put bigger tires on but kept the 1"
difference between the Front & Rear.
I just have a thought that the gearing is set up for the Front & Rear
diameter sizes when the 4x4 is engaged. Then adding tire diameter the
same for Front & Rear some thing would be off a little bit.
Just wondering if technically you would need a sprocket size change for
the rear when going the same diameter as the front?

Scott,
If the machine is a 4WD and came form the factory with different diameter tires. You best KEEP the same ratio in any tires you put on it!!
IE you say 23 front and 22 rear... then go 26 front and 25 rear or 25 front and 24 rear.... Get it?
Again, If it is 4WD AND came form the factory with different diameter tires F/R. Then YES it is definitely "geared" to run different sized tires F/R. The engine and driveline is only going ONE SPEED and force it to run two different speeds. It cannot physically do that and something will have to give... NOT a good scenario!

I am not the only who has but the same size tires all around. My 4X4 works the same way it did as before with the stockers. My top speed is the same if not higher with the bigger tires. I honestly dont see any difference with these tires. Im not going to loose sleep over it.

scrambler500,
I'm not trying to be a downer with your write up on your new rims & tires,
they look great. They only way to gain additional ground clearance on the
scrammy & TB's are to go with larger diameter tires.
I truly hope everything works out with your rim & tire selection, just had
a concern that I thought I'd bring up regarding the mechanics of the 4x4
working properly that's all. I'd hate to see something go in the tranny
after awhile and becomes more of an investment. It was one of those
things that just me made go "Hmm" and decided to add for discussion.

I totally understand. I came off the wrong way! I understand that there are some risks involved. Thanks for your concern though!
