Tape the cut you want then use a cut-off wheel

Plastics
Make a paper template and flip it from one side to the other, so as to cut both sides the same.

Why Cut?
Hi,
Why do you cut the fenders? Is it to put bigger tires under there and avoid hitting the spot where the fender and flairing bolt together?
I have a 2002 Polaris Sportsman 700 and am considering cutting the fender to the other side of the seam, then put on some flat extensions going straight out without a "seam" between the 2 parts (fender and flair)
I am 'considering' this because I bought 28" Maxxis Zilla's and they will rub unless I lift it. would like to avoid the lift, am trying to sell the tires, but if I don't then I have to come up with something to make it work, hoping a 2" lift on the front only will resolve.
Anyways, just curious on why you cut the fenders if it is not the same reason as what I am describing.

When racing atvs through the woods it helps avoid snagging limbs it also gives a direct view of the line your running to better judge the track
