trailboss 325 HID Conversion?
Was wondering if anyone has ever done this and if it worked well ? I have a 00 trailboss 325 that the stock light just isnt cutting it for me so I was thinking of either doing the conversion or possibally adding a set of driving lights that would be used for the low beam and than on high beam the stock light would come on along with the 2 new driving lights although not sure how to wire this one up any help would be great

Contact a member on here by the name of Thor. He owns the atvsuperstore and can probably set you up with HIDs

I think the question here is will the machine handle HIDs My 03 Magnum has a 200 watt output capacity, not sure what the 325 engine put out. Take all your current electrical usage items, add up the wattage consumed, and you'll have a good idea of what you can safely add (allow a 10% margin of error just so you don't overload the voltage regulator).

I was always under the assumption that the HID's only used alot of current when they were first fired up and that if their was a battery in the circut that it would draw the extra needed current to fire from that and not the out put from the stator?
I currently have just the stock head light 60/60w bulb the tail light and the oil cooler fan running off the out put from the stator and that a set of cheap aux driving lights which are 55w a piece running directly to the battery so thats not affecting the draw off the electrical system at all. and the HID's would be replacing the stock head light so the only thing running besides the HIDS would be the tail light and oil cooler fan and them combined I am pretty sure are no where near 200watts. and I Was thinking of using a Motor cycle HID kit being its designed for a smaller electrical system and being the trail boss only has the one head light I wouldnt need the dual kit like the guys putting them on the sportsmans or such....

Should work. I'm not real fimiliar with HIDs and their wattage requirements, but if your using Motorcycle lights- you won't have any issues as most bikes electrical systems are similiar in design and draw as our ATVs.

No Prob! Thor should get you squared away. He's a dealer but I got a lot of respect for him as he contributes so much info and offers up solutions that his company may not carry. Gotta respect I guy who does it for the love of the sport.
