Lightbulb Brighter Tail light mods

This will work for a number of models, but as far as I can tell, Early Magnums, Sportsman's, Trail Bosses and Scramblers all share this style light...

I noticed following my wife that the tail light was pitifully inadequate. Barely visible and only mediocre when brakes where applied. In comparison, Both a '07 Yamaha and Suzuki had very good tail lights. The Suzuki's was brighter when in running mode then the TB was with its brakes on and both used the SAME BULB!!

I pulled it apart and see that there is no reflective inside, only black plastic. Well as you know black absorbs light, doesn't reflect it. So I took some shiny metal aluminum duct tape and made up some reflectors.

I cut it to fit inside on the back of the light, behind the bulb.

Then I added some more to the sides of the red lens as I don't think its needed to be seen up under the fender or down at the ground.

I polished up the lens a bit with some Meguiars plastic polish used for cleaning plastic head lights. (GREAT STUFF!!) Then reassembled.

Not a huge improvement, but better just the same. I had some of that "thousand mile" reflective tape too. But decided to try the shiny aluminum tape first...
