Any one tried 3157 LED tail bulbs?

Hello all,
Has anyone tried to change out their 3157 tail bulbs for LED?
I bought a set of 48 LED's thinkin it would really look cool with the star type reflector my XP has . BUT ... they wont work,I realize they are polarity sensitive so when they installed one way the brake circut will work but not the tail flip em around and the tails will work but not the brake.Put the regular 3157's back in and all works as it should. This seems very strange to me.Can anyone shed some light on this (hee hee) for me?
thanks in advance

3157's are dual filament bulbs. One filament burns for tail light and both burn for brake just like your car. LED's are either on or off.

agreed , but don't the LED's have 2 separate circuits in em to allow for tail and brake function?

led tail lights

Go to the search tab and look for 'tail' . Pathfinder's post deals with LED tail lights.

You're probably right whiplash. I don't have any experience with the LED's on an atv but have seen them advertised. What's the advantage with them...just cosmetic?

I really like the cosmetic aspect but they also draw waaaay less current(that's why your turn signals will flash fast with em) and they are much more resistant to shock and vibration.
