painting plastics on XP

Can the XP plastics be painted or is it one color all the way through so new paint won't stick? I'd have my buddy do it who owns a body shop.I mean can you sand it down and paint it? Just don't anything about body work...thanks

Yes it can be painted. You'll need to use an adhesion promoter. Check with anyone who sells PPG,they have a paint called Durethane that is very tough. We sprayed some on a test panel and could hit it with a hammer and not scratch or chip it. It is however, very expensive. Just check with PPG and they should be able to guide you. Hope this helps.
