Polaris Hand & Thumb Warmers

For those of you that have installed this, how hard is it and do you have pics of what the warmers really are? Also is it mounted to a switch somewhere? I'm considering this after my chilly ride to the dealer this morning, seems like it may be a little cold on the hands for this winter while plowing.

I have 2 sets of A'ME grips, they are very easy to install. The switches are built into the grips, 6 settings and all you have to do is run the wires down to the battery and your done. They shut off when the battery voltage drops below 11.2 volts. Also they just slide on and clap down, we love em!

I was just checking out their website, those A'ME grips seem nice.

So is the button the little light? Do you ever hit it by accident? Based on how you wired yours, would it be possible to just draw power from one of the accessory wires in the pod (instead of direct of the battery)?

Thanks

The switch is right next to the led light. And yes i've turned them on by accident on some really rough trails (couldn't figure out why my hand was getting hot!) But ya you could wire them into the acc. under the pod, but if you go straight to the battery, when I shut the guad off the grips will stay on and toasty for a good 15 min. and then they shut off by themselves. The cool thing is when you start it back up it goes back to the setting you had it on. Really good people to talk to on the phone, very helpful.

Man, I keep contemplating buying the AME grips. I love the fact they are lock on and switch is built in. I just wonder if I will regret not having a thumb warmer. For the price of the AME I can get both in other brands. It looks like no one sells them, you have to buy online.

Decisions...

I know what you mean. Really don't miss the thumb warmer, we go out for 40-60 mile rides and thumb just fine. The reason I choose these is I didn't have to mount a big bulky switchbox somewhere on my bars, and if I have a problem with them I don't have to take all of it off the change 1 grip.

I think I am going to order some in week or so. Gotta turn in my girlfriends lease in 2 weeks, so I am scared to spend any extra money until I know if I have to pay for any so called "damage".

I take it you ordered from their website? I couldn't find any brick and mortar retailers.

Call or online, I think they ship the same day. Good luck with the lease, you know they always find something!
