500HO Touring passenger seat removal?

Is there some sort of passenger seat removal/cover that I could use when riding alone? Since the driver seat holds in place when the passenger seat is there, I think it might be safer to have something replacing it....

Where can you get such a box? Polaris doesn't offer the box to do this for the 2009 touring.
Thanks in advance

I believe that the 500 HO touring seat and the 550 xp touring seats are different and that the box listed by polaris will only fit the xp model.

I am trying to add a Touring seat back to my regular sportsman, possible you could take a picture and post it of the bottom of the passenger seat?

The touring model is a whole different bike than a regular sportsman. I believe a longer wheelbase and the seating is set up different. The rear seat sets down in a hole with a peg latch at the base
I may be wrong but I don't think you will be able to put that seat on your regular sportsman

you are right, the wheelbase IS longer.

although im sure its possible to rig out a system that will use the touring seat, it will most definitely be ALLOT higher and less flush.

Although, buying a touring rear rack, cutting the plastics in the rear fenders would bring it down maybe 2-3"
it will still be about 4" taller than the regular touring seat.
plus you will need to buy footpegs on a rail system (like THOR sells).

possible? yes.
but it will be ALLOT of work, and probably be near 1000 $ in parts and labor. (not to mention you will have to design a design!)
is it worth it? most definitely not, unless you have regulations stating against the use of a rear cargo/passenger box like the WES industries box (also available at THOR's site (theatvsuperstore.com).

hope i helped.
