Winch Bumper

Does anyone have any first hand experience with one of these?
Hey! Looking for Winch Bumper? Then Click Here!

My winch doesn't have anything on it to "stop" it from winding into the winch.

The fairlead on your winch should stop the hook from winding into the winch, but I have one that I bought from that site. I personally think it is a must have. It allows you to put tension on the winch when retracted to keep the line tight without having the full force if the winch pulling the hook into itself. Especially for plowing since it is a repetitive winching process.

I recommend it.

They are great for protecting the hook from the farelead causing damage and messing up the synthetic rope! If you have the rope then remove the the metal back part of the bumper so the rubber touches the farelead.

Here's what mine looks like -

I will be plowing with my machine so that is one of the reasons I was looking at this bumper.
Now that you can see what my winch cable looks like, how do you install the bumper?
Thanks!

On the wire you have to unspool it and thread the wire through and spool it back.

Thanks Thor!
One more question - where does the bumper stop at? Is it at the crimp fitting or does it go past the crimp fitting, stopping closer to the clip? My concern is if it stops at the crimp fitting am I going to have too much cable hanging?

The crimp kitting is 7/16" in diameter.
