Ratcheting Rhino grips

What is the best way to mount Koplin's ratcheting rhino grips to a front rack of a 2006 Polaris Sportsman?

Koplin rachet grips

If you can see in the picture I have a 10 500ho and they are mounted on the extender bar at both ends. This was to wide to hold my xbow but ok for the shotgun. I since moved one to 3/4 the way across the front of the bar, by the down support tube, it now works for both.

Problem is I don't have an extender on my front rack. I was thinking about drilling through the plastic on the front rack and securing the grips that way but I was not real excited about doing it that way. I have an extender in the back but I would prefer if the grips were in the front so I can see my bow or gun as I'm driving (in case it would ever come loose).

Lansing,
I would just bite the bullet and drill directly into the storage lid and use that 3M marine goop sealant that they sell at boating supply stores to reseal the lid if your concerned about water getting in. As long as you remove the rifle and grips from the bases before you open the lid, I don't think it'll be too much wear and tear on the lid hinges. Just my two cents. I know it's hard to drill into a brand new Polaris the first time .........then it gets easier

I removed one of screws (on each side) that go thru the lid and the alum tubing and used some longer 1/4 - 20 bolts and lock washers on the bolt head. It took a bit of work with the dremel on the base of the grip to get it to lay flat, just go slow so you don't take too much off. Sorry can't post a pic, will try to after I get a gopro for Christmas....

Thanks Grey Guitar and Beatontrack. I think I will use both your ideas. That was my main concern (allowing water into the cargo area). Thanks.
