I have the Polaris backrest part number 2876616 and the lock and ride box part number 2876601 and they are designed to fit together. One note though, the backrest can only go back as far as the box though. But if you look at the bottom of the box, it is designed with a channel for the backrest's frame. Very comfy and solid!
I have the same model bike. My avatar clearly shows the seat back and box installed as well. Plus here's a couple of pics with the two installed.
