swap in japanese motor?

I have a KLR 650 motor, I was wondering if it would work in a 335 sportman? It has clearance and my buddy can machine an adaptor to fit it to the tansmission.

so I'd need a beefier tranny/tcase. I guess that means look for a smaller engine like a 500

Why not order a Replacement motor off ebay? Or Fix your old one?

mine works fine, just have a killer motor sitting here

I understand what you're wanting to do but,you'll have a 5 spd.clutcher plus high ,low and reverse?
you'll need to move the brake handle, for the clutch

I don't want to be down for that long lol, I guess I'll find a decent 400 or 500 motor I can split from the transmission.
