ATV Bulb number help!?

hey guys, got another question..

My bulb went bad on my front left light on my 1998 xplorer 400

I took out the bulb and it said on the back

"WAGNEP. 02"
12,8V 37,5W

so after looking at some bulbs, ive decided that i want to replace the pair with the blue or white lights (I like how they look vs the standard yellow-ish)

So i looked at rockymountainatvmc and motosport.

i saw a pair of bulbs the were 886, instead of 894.. does that mean they wont fit at all?

does it have to be those exact numbers?

thanks for the help guys!

I took at look and they look pretty much the same. The 886 is a 50 watt lamp s opposed to the 38 watt lamp you're replacing. Keep in mind that there will be 1 amp more draw on each lamp. If you're running a bunch of other asseccories, the 2 amps may start to tax your charging system, probably not. Mechanically they look the same. I'd go for it.

the 894 bulb has a PGJ-13 base. Any other bulb with that base will fit. 886, 894, 881, 880 etc... Just remember though, if you put a higher wattage bulb in, you will be concentrating more heat within the lamp housing, possibly overheating it or melting something. though i doubt upgrading to a 50watt bulb will do that.
