Backrest and storage bags on 850XP L&R box
Mounted the backrest and cargo bags everything works nicely. Backrest is very comfortable. Don't have the part numbers but will put the description for anyone confused like I was when it says the cargo bags and loops were for 2005-2007 sportsman. I'm not sure the cargo bags were designed for this box but all the pre-drilled and threaded bolt holes are in the box. All you have to do is use the longer backrest bolts on the holes where cargo bags and backrest share.
Sportsman XP Lock & Ride Cargo Box Backrest (this attaches to the box itself with screws)
Lock & Ride™ Rear Cargo Rack Side Bag - 2005-07 Sportsman Black 2 @ $19.99 = $39.98
Lock & Ride™ Rear Cargo Side Bags Attachment Loops - 2005-07 Sportsman Set Of 8 (these are metal loops that also bolt into the box, required item you need a 1 set includes 8 loops and bolts ).

Yes everything is attached to the box so if lock and ride box is removed they come off also. there is another back rest that is lock and ride independent, that looks like it will also work with the box.

Thanks, Haven't went out yet with the back rest installed but does feel comfortable. I love having extra storage so with the two front fender bags and the side cargo bags I can carry all the stuff I want easy access to.

I've got the same setup on my 550. The pocket bags are really handy, especially the left one for water bottles, but they are not waterproof as I found out after a downpour last week. I also noted I have to drop one bag in favor of my lock n ride gun scabbard during hunting season. The backrest is really comfortable, but moves me just far enough forward I can't take the wife for more than a short ride anymore. That backrest is about to cost me the price of another 550 for her...

You can try some waterproofing fabric spray. I sprayed the front fender bags with camp dry. Got it at Walmart and seems to work.

That's a great idea. I'm going to have to try that this weekend.
