Anyone know if 28'' Zillas will fit on stock rims without rubbing issues?

re

And Im not sure this matters, but I changed the stock muffler to the GSE performance muffler so there seems to be a lot more room by the rear tire near the exhaust

Also, what would fit better without rubbing issues as far as zillas go:

27x10x14 front / 27x12x14 rear

or

28x9x14 front / 28x11x14 rear

The rims will be fine, that isn't the problem. The problem is the passenger footwell and it's bracing. Larger diameter tires will rub there, unless something was changed on the 1000 Tourings. Do your homework before spending the money on tires.

I've got 28" bearclaw HTR's on mine. Not sure how they compare to the 'zillas though. Even after trimming some plastic on the back side of the passenger foot wells, I still had to put a 2" lift on mine to keep them from rubbing. It still rubs ever so slightly on the hard landings. Details and pics in this thread. And you might also be interested in this thread as well.

JUST AN UPDATE

I wound up getting 28'' outlaw2 tires (28x9.5x14 front & 28x11x14 rear). Stock rims were fine and they fit great. I did install a 2'' lift kit and 1.5'' spacers though.
Not sure if they would have fit without the lift kit.

MNTNBKR, what lift kit did you put on and are you happy with it? I'm putting on my 28" HTR's in the spring and it sounds like I'll need to lift. Did you only lift in back, or both ends? Any adverse effects on the ride? Thanks!

I have 30s and put highlifter springs frint and rear, I didn't really need them on the front but the rear I definitely needed them. I have them on the stiffest setting but might back it down a notch or two after testing with it. No rubbing after the highlifter springs on stiffest setting and I cut the floor board like they do on the HL models.
