Question 2011 SP 500 - lift,tire,rim ?

I have a 2011 sportsman 500 ho..im looking to get some mud tires, zilla is what i think ill end up with. I was wondering how big should i go on a 500? i was wanting to put a 2" lift on it and maybe 28" zillas? im probly keeping the stock wheels for now unless i come across a deal.. ideas and opinions on the lift, tires, or rims would be appreciated. Thanks!

How are you liking your quad? I'm looking at the same one. Any little quirks it has?

6.2 - I love it man. The ride, the way it handles, the pick up..just about everything. Honestly the only thing that sucks is that theres not alot of aftermarket parts for the 2011 yet. Obviously this will change, and it has nothing to do with the bike, just saying haha

SMP63 - Yea i was looking at epi the other day.. the only reason i say 28"s is because the zillas supposedly run small. But i do like the fact the zillas are so light, so its not tooo much strain and loss of power.

You can run 28's with no lift. If you are only planning on running 28 zillas you will need to do nothing. those tires are not that aggressive or heavy so you will be able to turn them fine without clutching or lift. only issue with the larger tires and lifts with these 2011's is the weak axles. I believe there is an issue with the axles binding up with a lift and you need to replace the axle bars with shorter one's from highlifter so they do not bind up. Make sure you use low gear if in water or mud or you will burn up the belt.

The stock rear axles won't work with a 2" lift . I have a 800 sportsman and broke the stock rear axles with in a month. I replaced all of the with gorilla axles when I did the 2" lift.

Sorry to bump older thread...but stock axles won't live with a 2 inch lift? I have been reading and though people were saying 2 inch lift and 2 inches bigger on tire would be ok for stock axles? I'm not planning to do a lift but a friend of mine is..
