Touring tires
Hey guys I am pickup up a 2011 850 touring on labor day weekend and had a few tire questions. I have ran the original bighorns on my grizzly for a few thousand miles and they have held up nicely. I ride rocks and hard pack 95% of the time. I see the grim reapers are recommended highly and I will be looking at them as well. I thought of going with 25 inch tires so I do not have any rubbing issues. Anyone want to chime in and point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance

Do the reapers come in a 25" for those 14" wheels? I've only seen 26" and 27" options- just basing this on what I've seen at theatvsuperstore.com.
Please keep us posted about the rubbing issue, I'm thinking reapers too but I'll have the same possible bracket-rubbing issue as you with my X2.

I think the rubbing issue has more to do with the width. Your ride is 26x8 and 26x10x14. Most after market tires are 26x11 and 26x9x14. Several of us have mounted 25.5x8 and 25.5x10x14 Pit Bull Rockers on our tourings to avoid the rubbing issue. They are one heck of a tire and they fit your riding style. GBC makes several really good tires, but I think they are to wide for your bike (rubbing issue). I'd hate to waste a bunch of money on tires that may or may not work. That's my thoughts. If you want to spend some bucks you could always put on a lift kit to fix the problem. I got my tires from ok4wd.com, they cost me $565.32 delivered to the door. I ordered them 8-9-11, and they were on my porch the morning of the 12th.

I was kinda sold on the grim reapers. So does anyone know if the 11" wide tires in the back will definitely rub on the touring and x2?

I am sold on the grim reapers as well so I will have to find out if the 26 will rub before I buy.

You may have to search several forums to find the answers you're looking for.

Hi! me and my buddy drives a 2010 Touring 850 and we just installed some GBC Spartacus 27'' on our stock wheels. I was told i would not need spacers because it' s a 2010 model, but when we installed the tires they were rubbing on the suspension ,so we had to get 1'' spacers and i installed some fender flares, and now when we hit some big bumps on the trail the tires rubs on the fender flares,so we had to stiffen the suspension... if i would have known maybe i would have went with 26'' but i gain alot of ground clearence, and that makes alot of difference,we went for a ride on very rocky and boulder infested terrain yesterday and only once a rock hit the underside of the quad.i could not believe how much i gainned, and those Spartacus are amazing great traction on hard trail or mud and rock..if we would have the stock tires yesterday we would have had alot of tires to plug

09 Touring 27" Outlaw MSTs. 9" wide on front and 12" wide rears with no rubbing on the stock Polaris Aluminum Rims. Mounted them on 212's got even more clearance. Love the tire very smooth on hard ground and aggressive in the mud.

I have no experience with the Grims, I bought the GBC DC's. I can attest to the durability of the tire after a 57mi ride in nasty rock and boulder strewn trails. If the Grims hold up like the DC's I say go for it. My neighbor had a local machine shop make him 1/2in spacers....I think he paid $100otd.
