Carlisle ACT HD Tires
I'm looking for feedback from those running Carlisle ACT HD tires, specifically regarding their actual size (height and width).
I ask, because I have an 05 Sportsman 700 with the stock Carlisle PXTs (26x8R12 and 26x11R12). I ordered a set of standard Carlisle ACTs (non-HD) in the same size as replacements but found the non-HD ACTs to be shorter and wider then their PXT counterparts. The non-HD ACT 26s actually measure about 24.5"; while my worn PXTs are still measuring over 25".
Given this comparison, I would assume that a 27" ACT would be closer to the stock 26" PXT...unfortunately the non-HD ACTs don't come in 27" but the HDs do. SO, I'd like to get some feedback from anyone whose running 27" Carlisle ACT HDs so I can verify this theory before making the purchase.
The specific tires that I'm looking at are Carlisle ACT HD 27x9R12s for the front and 27x11R12s for the rear. I'm hoping that they run short like the standard ACTs so they'll be closer to the 26" PXT height (so I don't need a clutch kit) but wider than the stockers so I'll get a little more meat on the ground.
Thanks in advance.
