Cut a front tire. Can I do this?

Hey guys, I cut a front tire the other day on my 550XP. It has the stock Terrathons on it. I want to go to Big Horns. My question is this. Can I change out the front tires to Big Horns now and replace the rears later. I read the Big Horns are actually taller by 1/2 in than rated.(26 are 26 1/2) Will this pose a problem in 4WD. Thanks in advance.

I really don't think a 1/2'' will make a big difference when in 4x4 in the mud, but could pose a threat on hard packed surface in 4x4, or to be safe just keep it 2 wheel drive until you get the rears on.

In a car its very dangerous to mix a radial with a bias ply tire.... Are the stockers bias plys? I know the BHs ARE radials.

I did not even think of that Longshot.. Not sure if it would make a difference at the slow speeds we travel. Something to think about. Thanks Hemi for your input. If I do mix I will make sure it is for a very short time.

Shouldn't make a difference in 4x4 because the front wheels actually spin slower then the rears. There are some youtube videos showing this. As far as radial vs. bias at the speeds that we travel wont be to bad. Even if you do get up to 65 or 70 its only for a short time.
