Help with wheel offset...cuz I have no freekin clue

OK, so I have a chance to buy ss112 for $70 cdn per rim regular $130...so its a good deal....my question is what the heck does offset mean and how does it apply...currently I have stock rims with front 27-9-14 rear 27-11-14 swamp lights...the rims available are 4+2 offset/5+3 offset/3+5 offset....there is only 2 available in each offset...so I need to no what 4 to buy and how this will effect the handling of the bike.

thanx for your help guys!

Offset is how centered the part of the wheel where the hub bolts too.

A 4+2 means that the entire wheel is 6 inches wide. When you bolted this wheel to the machine, 4 inches of this wheel is to the inside, and only 2 inches of the wheel offset from where it bolts up to the outside.

Basically it affects how close the tire is to the strut, or how far it sticks out from the hub.

The 5+3 is 8 inches wide, with 5 inches of the wheel to the inside of the hub.

I don't know if you need spacers, you might, should be easy to measure beforehand.

The 4+2 should work on the front. ITP lists the 5+3 most for the XP. It also throws the 3+5 in there a few. Less chance you need spacers on the rear with the 3+5, but if the 5+3 fits with no rubbing issues, it's the better choice for the rears.
