07 700xp ranger fitment
I have a 2007 700XP ranger with the stock 12 rims, I need new tires and have found a very attractive deal on a set of new take offs described as:
"ALUMINUM 14" wheel/tire combo off of 2010 850 EPS these are the nice 8 point star aluminum wheels that came with the EPS models in 2010 and the stock tires. The tires are CARLISE Terrathon's 26x8 fronts - 26x10 rears" Question is will they work and will they fit without mod?

WELCOME!!
We are mostly ATV guys here, but IIRC your machine comes with 25" tires. the 26's should fit just fine the OAD is a minimal increase and the 12-14" rim change should mean nothing. But I am merely making a educated guess, based on observations. Hopefully someone will know for sure for you.

Being as the wheels are coming off a XP, you may have to change lugnuts and studs as the pitch on the XP lug nuts are different from a standard Sportsman or Ranger.

I put my 2009 850xp rims on my 2007 ranger. You have to put spacers on all tires to make them fit as the xp rims have almost no offset. I also used the factory xp tires and found them to narrow for the ranger's weight. We ride a lot in the winter and it seems like it would just sink in the snow. I ended up selling the spacers and put factory ranger rims back on with new rubber and seems to work much better now.
The lugnuts off the xp also will not work as they are metric. The bolt pattern is the same. My ranger came with aluminum rims and the lugnuts seemed to worked with the xp rims.
The ranger did look good with the rims as I have the factory le aluminum rims. Only reason I changed them on the atv is to change to a wider tire.

There ya go!!
But one thing, I know its a bit confusing... NO offsett or back space would have the rims looking like buckets with everything sticking out form the wheel mounting surface. LOL now THAT would look funny!!
The XP rims must have more back space, not less. As more BS would push them under the machine more, less BS would make them stick out. That's why you needed the spacers, to move them out form under the machine.
Who da thunk it... GOOD INFO!!
