28" zilla on 2003 polaris 700
what are my options to make the 28x10x12 maxxis zilla front tire fit on my 2003 polaris sportsman 700? I know I need a lift but what about the clearance on the strut tower? I want to use the factory wheels so I assume I just need some 1" spacers or am I wrong? right now I'm running the stock goodyear rawhide 25x8x12 and it appears to have about 1" of clearance with the strut tower. I was wondering about just turning the wheels backwards, is there a reason that wont work?

I would bet you are correct, but not having don't this I cannot say with 100% certainty...

Get ready to get really dirty. I got a feeling the tires are going to stick way out of the fenders making the wheeler very wide!!! Also not sure how the wheel bearings are gonna like it. Won't know till ya give it a try!!!!

Running 28 Zillzs on an 500 HO, had to build spacers for strut clearance, 1.25", If I remember right.
As for turning the rims around, have done that also on the rear of a Honda Rancher, used a set of stock Brute wheels, what I had on hand at the time. The only thing I don't like is the stems on the inside, have not had a problem, but keep thinking a stick hung between the axle housing and wheel will cause one to break. Just make sure the stem does not rub the brake disc or parts when installed that way.
