Question rim size change on a 2000 Sp 500

You guys are great! I am getting lots of good advice and tire offers....but I am running into an issue. The rears on my 500 are 10" dia rims (25x11x10) while the fronts are 12" (25x8x12). Most of the offers I am getting are for 12" all the way around. Would it mess anything up if I went to 12" rims in the back. I am seeing offers for sets that include 2- 25x8x12 and 2-25x10x12 so the rears would be an inch narrower and be on 12" rims.....And what about moving the tire dia up to 26...is that a big issue? I don't know the answers so I am putting it out here...any advice will be helpful. Thanks

Good moring, as far as going to the 12" wheel, I can't see any problems. The selection of tires will be greater for the 12" wheel. You shouldn't have any issues with the larger rims on the rear.

I've seen adapters that will let you use the larger wheels. Check with Hit-the-Gas, I think they offer them. All they do is change the bolt pattern from 4x4 to 4x156(same as the front).

Going one size larger will rob a small bit of power, but I don't think that much. Of course using larger tires may require a clutch mod, or maybe not, depending on the height and weight of the tire you choose.

Hope this helps
