Has anyone painted the stock aluminum wheels black?
I want to know if anyone has painted or powder coated their stock aluminum rims black. I bought a set of stock take off wheels from a deluxe Sportsman for my green 2008 700 X2, and I want to paint or PC them black. Powder coating is expensive, but I don't want the paint to be easily scratched off either.
I almost bought a set of stock Ranger take off wheels that where black, but the front tires were 9" wided instead of 8", and I didn't want to deal with them rubbing on the tie rod end and strut body.
Any words of wisdom on this would be greatly appreciated.

I have powder-coated 2 sets of aluminum wheels black and they turned out great, we have a great local company that did it for a reasonable price.

Can you share what it cost to do a set?

I used bedliner spray on my aluminum wheels.

It will depend on your powder-coater but I paid about $100 (for the set) for sand blasting and powder coating, had the wheels back the next day.

For all you Houston guys, I had mine done by Spectrum Powder Coatings in Spring for 45.00 a wheel.

$45 a wheel is a little expensive I find, I'm sure they do a great job, just when you look at how much aftermarket wheels cost, your 1/2 way to a new set.
I like the black powdercoating, nice pics guys!
