I know guys that run them down to 2 lbs (and even lower) for riding deep snow out in the Rockies. However, it all depends on the tires, rims, and snow conditions you are running in. Lowering the pressure to low can cause the bead to break away from the rim a lot easier.
I would start at 4 lbs all the way around... if that doesn't help the snow traction much, drop them 1/2 lb at a time... try it and see where you end up, or where you are most comfortable. I run mine around 3 1/2 to 4 lbs for plowing and riding in the snow. Works for me, but they are Bighorns, and they supply great traction to begin with.
One last thing... having an accurate tire gauge is helpful. I've seen as much as 2 lbs difference in gauges. Of course, if you only have one gauge, and you find a pressure with that gauge that works... so be it. However, when running low pressure, you really want an accurate gauge.
