On trail tire repair

I was curious to learn the different methods everyone uses to repair a flat out on the trail as far as breaking the tire down, tools used etc.

as someone who was thrown out of the boyscouts for being over-prepared, I carry a little of everything:
1. I have a scissor jack out of an old pickup that I mounted to the back of the machine. I put a bolt in the rear tube bumper that catches on the slot in the bottom of the jack where it used to catch under the seat of the truck. Then I crank the jack open until it is wedged between the tube bumper and the rack.
2. All my tires on both machines are slimed.
3. I carry a plug and patch kit with a portable air compressor that plugs into the accessory port.
4. For the rare instance I break a bead I keep a ratchet strap to compress the tire and a bunch of CO2 cartridges with an adapter. The sudden burst from the CO2 is much easier to set the bead with than the air compressor. Also need a valve stem tool to pull the valve stem. Otherwise it can inhibit the sudden burst of air from the CO2 cartridge.

That has pretty well kept me in business and saved quite a few friends. Once someone did break a valve stem off. Them, I couldn't help. Maybe I should start carrying extra valve stems too.
