Sti black diamond xtr's?
Just wondering who has them and how do you like them? I can get a pretty good deal on a set of 4, but was wondering how they hold up. I'm looking at picking up another '11 leftover 850xp for a second quad for my son & girlfriend and wanna swap out the stockers right away. I've heard they handle good on just about every terrain out there but I also heard to run them with low air pressure, like 2.5-3 psi. Looking at the tread I was also wondering how the tread life was? I've seen a few people run them but they all have low hours and miles on them and nothing really proving their durability.

Well guess I'll find out cause I just ordered a set! I have no doubt they'll handle everything we could throw at 'em, just hope they last a few seasons.

I don't have any knowledge with the Black Diamonds but if they wear like the Mud Trax X/L's they will last a long time. I've got 2,000 miles on them & only lost 1/8" of tread. Been a very good tire so far!!!! IMHO STI makes a good tire.

Hopefully they last for awhile, around 2500 miles or so. My general riding area is everything from leaf covered trails, some hard pack & rocks to loose coal dirt and soon to be snow. Very little mud to talk about, mainly some large puddles that have been there forever. I ordered these today and they should be here by the end of the week just in time for the weekend. We pick up the leftover 850xp on Thursday so it should all work out.

Well I got these on Monday and my first impression is wow, these have some pretty big lugs. It also looks like a low profile tire, compared to the stockers. I'm hoping the ride isn't to rough. I hear nothing but good reviews on the overall ride quality, but I can't wait to mount these up and see for myself. I also have a set of gbc sparticus coming in this week and its making it hard to wait and see which ones are going to get mounted first.

The side walls are very stiff which will give you a harsh ride unless you run very low air pressure. (2.5 psi) Hope that works for you. Just isn't much pressure when riding on 14" wheels. Just not much side wall for rim/bead protection.

That's what I thought when I seen them....low sidewall, rough ride. But we'll see how it goes. As for the psi I was told by a few guys to run 2.5-3. They say it really changes how the tire handles and performs compared to running say 5 psi. Were expecting 3" of snow tonight so it will be fun trying them out before work.
