BobX2..you out there?
I'm curious how you like your new PB Rockers compared to the Bighorns. I've pretty much narrowed my selection down between these two tires.
Much appreciated!

Going for my first ride on them tomorrow. Should be quite a bit of snow up where we are going. Deep snow performance is really the only question I have about these PB's. I have no doubts about them performing better in all other conditions after seeing them and doing some riding around the house. These are a bad a$$ tire. I have yet to see a tire around here that will get you through deep snow as well as the BH's though. I will let you know after tomorrows ride. A majority of the group will be on BH's so it will make for a good comparison.

I too am going for a ride, but unfortunately I'll be on my stock tires. I look forward to your report. Have fun out there. Thanks!

It appears that my fears about deep snow were unfounded. The Rockers perform great in the deep snow and icy hills.
I did notice that when I was in high with the throttle pinned that there was actually a little drag down on the engine, where as with the Bighorns there wasn't any at all. Just guessing, I would say this was from getting more bite from the PB's. There is only 24 lbs. difference from the BH's to the PB's, so I don't think that would be the cause.
I would have to say that they even out perform my old Bighorns in those conditions.
The lateral grip is way better and if there is any traction available, they seem to find it.
If anyone ever had any questions about the value of a good aftermarket tire -vs- OEM tire, they should have seen what we all saw on this New Years Day ride. My wifes 500 on Bighorns out performed (by a large margine) a couple of 850's on OEM tires.
If these Rockers wear as well as the Bighorns, and from what I've seen they do, I think I'm done buying the BH's. Can't believe I'm saying that because the BH's are a great tire, but I really do think the Pitbulls are a better tire. The big drawback is the price, but if that isn't an issue for you I recommend Pitbulls.

Thanks Bob! I do value your opinion. I might just have to give those Pitbulls a try. They just look gnarly, I love it. Price is always a consideration, but according to the Mayans the world is going to end this year so F_it, I'm getting the PB's!

I don't think you will be disappointed in your choice. If you go with the 26.5" be ready to use low gear a little more often. The extra grip and extra weight will put a little more strain on the engine in some situations.

I think I remember reading somewhere that PB rockers run about a 1/2" larger than the stated size. If that is true, would the 25.5" essentially be right at stock size?

You are correct the PitBull tires run about 1/2 inch larger than the size indicates so it would be close to the stock 26 inch tire.
