27x12x12s on the front??

I have a 2003 Sportsman 500 and am getting ready to replace the stockers. I plan to buy wheels and tires and want the Kenda Executiones but for some reason I want the mean look and want to put 27x12x12s all the way around. Will this work and what size spacer would I need to fit them on the front. Also will this make the front a good bit wider than the back because I don't want it to look stupid. Would I need to put spacers on the back as well to equal out the width. Just wondering, if anyone has done this before let me know how well it worked. I have considered the Vampires as well at 27x12x12 all the way around. Thanks for the input.

I think for the 12's to fit in the front without rubbing on the tie rods you'd have to go with a 1.5 or 2 inch spacer. The 12's will fit on the rears with no rubbing; but the front you'll definitely rub. I'm not sure if it will look funny as I have not ran spaces.

Yep you'll have to run spacers! And it will steer like sh*t! Had a buddy to try them out with that set up and hated how it drove. Now he's running 30x9x12 outlaws all the way around no spacers, no lift.

I'm sure with 30's he is rubbing just a bit on the fenders without a lift... and is running a different clutch.

I think regardless a skinnier 30, 27, 26, whatever... will be better in deep mud then a wide version of the same tire.

You will need to put the same size spacer all the way around if you do not want the front to be wider than the rear. It will be more difficult to steer, but if you ride a lot of mud, you will like the wides. Wides pull better and will keep you from digging down in the mud like a skinny would do.

I have 11 wides in the back and 9 wides in the front. While taking my stock tires and wheels off from plowing i took one of my mud tires from the back to see if I could fit an 11 wide in the front. It cleared the tre with about 1/2". I am running a itp delta steel wheel with a 4+3 offset and 1" wheel spacers all around. You would probably need that wheel combo and at least 1 1/2" spacers. Like it was said before it is gonna be horrible steering because not only are the tires wider but you are pushing them farther outside. If you are strictly a mud rider it may not be a big deal but as a trail rider this may also create a lot more bump steering and steering feedback. Also keep in mind that with my offset wheels and 1" spacers I am 52" wide up front and 53" wide out back.

Hope this helps Good Luck!

Bigtime
