Same width front and rear?
I have a 2011 550 so it has stock 26x8 fronts and 26x10 rears but I was thinking of getting another set of stock front wheels to put on the back so I can run 26x8 front and rear. Any reason not to? I don't plan on carrying alot of weight on the back so I think I am fine in that aspect. I haven't weighed the front and rear wheels to compare them but I imagine the narrower rim and tire combo is considerable lighter. They run this combo on the military MV 850 models, I'm sure they specified it that way for a uniform spare, and I think it would also work well for me.

I have always ran same size tires front and rear that way if I have a flat I can always rotate tires to get back to camp and my spare will fit on all four corners

you can do it...
but the only minus about it is that you will have less floatation...
just another question... @ brute force...
you can always sway the rear tire for the front... maybe you wont be able to turn all the way but... it will get you back to camp.

If for instance I lose a front 30-11-14 to a flat I can pull it to the back and ride on the opposite side of the rack putting little pressure on the flat tire while steering easily. Then when I get to the truck just slap on my 30-11-14 spare and I'm off again. Also we ride alot of deep water averaging 4 feet deep and wides all the way around provide alot of floatation To keep the front up and my snorkels safely out of the water

i meant, lets say a front 26-9-14 goes flat, you can swap it out for the REAR tire of the same side (26-11-14 lets say)...
your two front tires WILL be different..
and you wont be able to turn the steering all the way in any direction..
but it will get you back to camp...
and i agree... for some reason my polaris dealer says "the rear tire is always wider than the front"
if it was my choice id swap out all 4 tires for identical ones .. but i rather keep (for now) the stock size as it seems to work amazingly well for me so far...

If you decide to do a swap I'd get all rear wheels or all fronts I've got 4 rears
