25.5 or 26.5 Growlers???

What would be best for a 2005 sportsman 700? I'm thinking the 25.5 may be my better option since they are heavy tires or do you guys think I would be ok with the 26.5s?

From what I have read, both tire sizes measure exact or maybe even a 1/2" over. If that is true, then the fronts would be almost be an inch taller than factory tires according to the measurements I have taken.

I would say it kind of depends on what kind of riding you do. If you spend a lot of time in high riding at high speed you would notice a drop off with the bigger tire. If you trail ride and aren't looking for top speed then the 26.5 shouldn't be any problem. You also have the option to go with 6 ply or 8 ply with the Growlers, so there is a weight savings to be had there as well.

Good observations bobX2. It all depends on what type of riding you will be doing.

You are correct the PitBull tires do run almost 1/2 inch taller than the size indicates. They are wider than your stockers also.

Discount Tire I called the other day and they said that the 25.5X10X12 is on backorder for about 4 to 6 weeks and said to call back in about 3 weeks to get an update. If I wait that long before ordering, could the price go up and I not be able to get them for the price they are now?

Thanks!

jac42779,

Are you looking for the Rockers or Growlers? We currently have the Rockers in stock. The Growlers in 25.5x10R-12 are due in 1-24-2012.

BTW, you could place a layaway order for the the tires and we will call you when they come in.

Let us know how we can help.

Bobx2, how has the weight affected your machine? The pitbulls seem extremely heavy!
