Well guys a few weeks ago I went ahead and ordered my Maxxis Bighorns for my touring 850. For the rears I went with the 26x11x14 and the fronts 26x9x14. Since I knew there would be rubbing issues in the back I went ahead and ordered 4 1.5 inch spacers to make the clearance and give it better handling. The foot rest bracket was pounded in to avoid the rubbing. This past weekend I went up to my cottage for Tip Up Town in Houghton lake Michigan. Let me tell you that everyone loved the look of my ride and more importantly all were impressed as to how the bighorns handled the deep snow. My buddy that I meet up there is a speed freak and has all kinds of snowmobiles, so he asked if he could test it out. So I jumped on the passenger seat me weighing 195 lbs. and my buddy 220 lbs. shocks set on the second setting from max. Well driving crazy through the trails and hitting some rough bumps I can report there was no rub at all and more impressive was my buddy said my ATV handled just like his arctic cat F7 on the trails. My buddy is on a mission now to find a deal on 850 touring. Oh one more thing my ride has the mud guards that I bought from Thor and can say there was nothing flying around. I'll try to get some pics posted soon.

That's about the best tire you can put on an atv for snow riding. They won't hold you up on a slippery side hill very well, but that is about the only thing I could ever find wrong with them.

Big Horns have been around a long time. There are a lot of folks on these forums that like some of the newer sexy tires, but the Big Horns always stay popular while some of the new tires fade. I got a set a year ago and they are really solid tires. They do throw mud and snow if you have no flares (i don't) but a little mud is half the fun of riding. If I had it to do over again I would get the same tire.
I have the 2011 850 xp touring as well, Love the machine. Glad I read your post as I've been leaning towards a set of Bighorns (same size as you went with) for a while now. Ordered a set of Fender Flare yesterday, the tires are soon to come. You said you went the 1.5" spacer's, I take it these were nesscessary to prevent rubbing? Thanks for the post, because this was a concern of mine before I went ahead and order them. I'll order a set of these now so I'll be ready for when the tires arrive.
Did you mount the Bighorns on the Stock Aluminiun rims?? tks
