I would think that you would be ok with the stock rims if you stay with the original size tires if they make them in that tire. You may be able to even go up a size. Sorry for not having a real answer, maybe someone that knows more than me will give you an answer.
I just bought the pitbull growlers from discount tire direct in the 25.5 size and they are real close to the same size as my original tires and look great. I have not put any time on them yet but going on a big 4 day ride in april. The front tires are about an inch wider and taller than my stock tires. The back ones look to be exact the same size.
9" wide front tires on the stock wheels will rub on the tie rod ends. If you go bigger than stock and want to keep your OE rims, you might take a look at some wheel spacers. Cheaper than new wheels.
