Maxxis Bighorns on 800

Has anyone used the 26" Bighorns on their 800? They are actually a true 27". I was just worried about rubbing issues. I was going to go with ITP SS112 rims.

I have had the big hornies on a 500,800 and 850 all on ss212s and there is no rubbing issue The big hornes are great tires.

If you use your stock wheels, they will fit fine, but you have to flip your front upper tirod ends. Form the factory they are setting on top, and the added width of the new front tires will hit them. If you un bolt them and then place the tirod on the bottom of the bracket it then lines up with the rim and not the tire, hince no more rubbing issue. If you do not want to flip the tierods you have to go with aftermarket rims, and the machine will be a couple inchs wider than with the factory rims do to the added offset of the aftermarket rims, but its that added offset that allows the tires to clear the tierods in there factory mounting position.

Here are some pics of 26" bighorns on 12" OEM rims. Also some pics of the tirod that they hit unless you flip over to the other side of that bracket pictured there. Once it is on the other side of the bracket it lines up with the rim and not the tire, so you can how ever big a tire you want and it will not effect the tirod ends.

I took your advice and flipped the tie rod ends. The clearence appears to be perfect. I think you should mention that you must adjust the toe in after you flip the tie rod ends. It is very simple to do, no special tools or anything.

Anyone running the 26" BH tires with 14" Vs. 11" stock dims?

My thoughts are with the newer XP's running the Terrathons at 14" increases the stance a little. Maybe I can can a little stability? Opinions?
