Ouch, I am sorry to hear about that. I would not be too happy with those tires either if they were out of round like that

That sucks. I would be pissed too. It's not how you communicate, what matters is what you communicate, that makes the difference in the end.

Discount Tire is a stand up company I purchased a set of rims and Grim Reapers from them for my Sportsman back in November and well riding a few weeks ago as I was starting down a hill I watched my right rear tire go rolling down the hill in front of me rear end slammed to the ground luckily I got it stopped but the point of my ramble is that lost all the lugs off that tire while riding that day and it turns out Discount Tire sent me lug nuts for a XP when I got the rims They seemed to go on fine but they were the wrong size. It all ended up costing $670 in damage to the wheeler plus another $70 for a new rim (the holes where wallowed out). Discount tire didn't bat a eye apologized for the mix up and two days later I had a check in my mailbox and a new rim at my door. Plus they paid me to do the work. NOW THAT'S WHAT A STAND UP COMPANY DOES! Oh yeah sorry for your bad luck.

Now that's what I call great customer service. I've expressed my discontent about Discount Tire's price guarantee in a past post. (Either you have the lowest price or you don't. I'm not the kind of guy that will call you up and beat you up on price) In the end, they did have the lowest advertised price and they got my business. When my Rockers showed up, I had them mounted locally. Two days later I walked out to the shop and one tire was flat. Aired it up and went for a ride anyways. Four hours later it had lost a couple of PSI. I pulled the wheel and took it to the tire shop thinking it may have been a valve stem. Turns out it had a pin hole in the inner side wall. The guy at the tire shop said it has to be a manufacture defect. I called DT and a couple of days later I had a new tire and UPS shipping label to send the defect back. Discount Tire has a great business model and will be getting more of my money. Oh yeah, the tire shop dismounted and mounted the new one for free, I give them lots of money too.

Not to get off topic, but did you happen to measure your Grim Reapers installed? I was just wondering how tall they are. I measured my stock tires today and found they are only 23 7/8". I am curious to know how true to size they run.
As far as your issue, sorry that sucks. If it makes you feel any better, I have been reading up on tires over the last few weeks and haven't read of that happening before. Hopefully your flat spot issue is a one time fluke.

I am sorry you are not happy our customer service. Please note we offer a 15 day return policy on defective items. This order was delivered to you on 11/14 of last year. Almost 5 months ago and we just received a email from you on the 9th of this month that you were having issues. ATV tires are not warrantied by the distributors or manufacturer, but the distributor Direct Performance which is the wholesale department of Discount Tire was willing to exchange them for new ones even though they were 5 months old. Key is if you have a issues or problem do not wait so long to inform us. Check your Paypal account. That will help towards shipping.

Wow! I would say that anybody that would take back tires (that have no warranty) after 5 months is going above and beyond. I probably would have covered the dismount and mount though. Funny how Berntboater is always in the middle of threads stirring the pot.

Dude that sucks! Sounds like you don't get out to ride that often (70 miles in 5 months). Hard to tell if they were out of round until you rode on pavement, makes sense. I understand about warranties, but companies must understand that our toys are not everyday drivers, and it may take time for the problem to arise. I get mine out about three times a year, so this could very easily happen to me.

Berntboater, its really cool how you rant about how people should be treated and then act like a a$$hole to everyone. It's really cool. BTW, the pile of shit is in your boots, every time you put them on.

Berntboater, you are right. Not everyone. Just Thor. Go back and read your posts in the Guru bumper thread. I guess I couldn't understand your tone in this thread because of the typing and I read between the lines and saw you calling Thor a piece of shit.
Manipulatively calling names is the same as coming right out with it. I'm not asking whether or not you meant it that way, I'm telling you that's how it came across.
Berntboater, really, I'm not that big of a jerk. I'm trying to show you how your posts come across. In the Guru thread and this one, your post have come off abrasive. When I think someting I type can be taken the wrong way, I don't type it. Unless I want it to be taken the bad way, like in these responses.
I am sure, if we ever meet, we will get along just fine. Maybe even share a beer or two. I am probably a little sensitive to some this because I have close relative who fell victim to bullying. I don't care where or when I see bullying, I try to stop it.
I will NOT make another post in this thread unless I have somehing to contribute specifically to the thread.
